Training Course October 2nd
We are pleased to announce a New Shooters Course at WRPA on Saturday October 2nd. Email rob@mdpl.ca for more information, here’s what we recommend for those interested in taking the course:
BEFORE THE COURSE YOU SHOULD
1. Be able to hit a 8.5″X 11″ paper at 20m at your own time, with your pistol, 9/10 times
2. Know how your pistol works and name its parts; slide lock, mag release, safety, etc.
3. Be able to clean your pistol, including minor disassembly if required

Required Equipment:
1. ‘Stock’ handgun 9mm or larger and 2 magazines ( 3 speed loaders or magazines recommended)
2. Pistol belt – A sturdy belt made to carry a handgun. 1.5″ recommended.
3. Holster (no shoulder rigs, cross draw, appendix or speed/race type holsters)
4. Belt ammo carriers also recommended (i.e. mag pouches)
5. 250 rounds of ammo (minimum)
6. Concealment garment (vest, jacket etc…)
7. Eye & ear protection
The course will cover:
1. IDPA rules, and range commands
2. Range safety
3. Drawing from a holster, drawing from concealment
4. Target engagement
5. Shooting from cover, shooting on the move
6. Reloads (slide lock, reload with retention)
